Greetings from Bridging Solutions!

We are proud to announce that Rolando Corsa, PE, a Project Manager with Bridging Solutions, recently attended a refresher course on Bridge Inspection presented by the Federal Highway Administration and the National Highway Institute. This training has allowed Bridging Solutions to be prequalified by FDOT for Work Category 5.1 - Conventional Bridge Inspection. Here are a few bridge inspection fast facts that Rolando learned at the training sessions:

1. Sufficiency Rating is the numerical rating of a bridge based on its structural adequacy and safety for public use and its serviceability and functional obsolescence. Sufficiency Rating is now obsolete with regards to federal funding. There are no dedicated bridge funds. See more information here.

2. Overall, the nation currently has more functionally obsolete bridges than structurally deficient bridges.
